Q: I have water leak in my renault clio, i have had the windscreen checked by autoglass and they say it isn't the glass, please can you help! s.smith, marks tey 27/09/08
A:

many renault clio owners experience problems with leaking sunroofs, this is a slow deteriation of the seal between sunroof frame and body. unfortunatley this problem doesn't appear untill long after the warrenty has expired, there is no simple remedy without profesional help, at colchester motorglass we will completely remove and refit the sunroof at you home, applying a new seal. the process normally takes approximately 2-3 hours.

on occasion the seal between the glass and frame needs replacing, this is less common and at £85 from your local dealer, not some thing to purchase without being sure,

Q: my ford focus has a leaky windscreen, i think its the original windscreen and i cant find the leak, j.fricker, chelmsford 10/10/08
A: ford focus 1998 to 2005 water leaks on the passengerside, a problem commonly assosiated with the windscreen and 99% of the time it turns out to be the pollen filter cover, although this should be removed during the windsceen changeover process, it is also removed during a 20,000mile service, check the fit between the windscreen and the lower cover, we at colchestermotorglass can remedy this with a simple remove and refit process.

as you state that its not had a windscreen you may do well to check if you have had a recent service, you may find a warranty claim against the service provider. i hope this is of help to you.

Q: i have a vauxhall astra, i had a windscreen fitted two weeks ago and now there is water on both sides in the floor space, tracey 19/01/09
A: hi tracey, firstly if you have had a problem with the workmanship then take it straight back,if this is a MK3 astra i think this will be a straight forward remedy, when the windscreen is replaced, the lower panel is removed and with that a lower "rain channel" panel, that is most likley to have been refited incorrectly allowing water to travel through the pollen filter straight into the front footwells.
